With Valentines Day just around the corner, love is in the air! I am still waiting for the big proposal from my boyfriend, crossing my fingers it will be sometime soon...(I know he's been saving up for that ring) and in knowing that I can't help but start planning out the wedding in my head haha! Can you blame me? It's every girls dream so it has to be perfect! I've recently discovered an amazing Etsy shop that I plan to do lots of shopping from when that day finally comes! Let me introduce you to Conncall...

Conncall is your one stop shop to express your personalized style for your wedding or event! The shop is filled with lovely place cards, escort cards, hang tags and lots of other goodies that all come with the option of hand calligraphy - the specialty of Conncall's shop!

There is just something to be said about the personal touch that comes along with hand calligraphy. It is truly an art form, and one that I fear is being replaced all to often with *gasp* envelopes being printed out on the computer! This is your day, make it special! Conncall is run by its lovely owner Judy, and I've asked her to write me up a little bio so you can learn more about her and her wonderful shop! Here's what she'd like to share with you...

"My philosophy is that calligraphy gives your wedding your signature style! It's a collaboration and I work with you to help you design the event that "looks like you" from invitations to programs and escort cards to the last photo album shot of a sign that declares, "Just Married!"
My work is hand lettered using a dip pen and ink. I also work have bonded with art programs and my mac to further develop my product line. I have more than 25 years experience -- I must be having fun because time is flying! I specialize in elegant script lettering styles including Copperplate and Italics. I am a member of The New York Scribe Society and have studied at workshops and with premiere professional calligraphers.

I divide my time between New York City, Mystic, CT and Sarasota, FL. I am truly inspired by the beauty of coastline which is a subdued way to say I have a beach addiction! I am also fan contempory craft art and volunteer time at the Museum of Arts and Design in NYC.

Sending an invitation that has been hand-lettered by a professional calligrapher will leave a lasting impression with your invited guests. Calligraphy helps you express your personal style and sets an elegant tone for your party or wedding."

A NEW YEAR AND MY RESOLUTION

Boy have things been CRAZY lately! So glad they are finally calming down! The holidays are over and so is all the hustle and bustle!

I had a wonderful Christmas with my family. We opened presents at my parents house in the morning, then it was on to my boyfriends parents to visit and play with their new puppy. Finally we had a quick dinner at my aunts before coming home and crashing on the couch watching some of the new movies I received for Christmas.

I then found out Sunday (the Sunday after Christmas) that my boyfriends Sister and Brother-in-law were coming to visit on Monday with their son Dustin who is only a couple months old and they were going to be staying at my house until Wednesday!!! So I went food shopping and cleaned and cleaned for hours getting ready for them haha.

Here's a pic of me and baby Dustin opening up one of his Christmas presents. So cute!!! He was more interested in trying to eat the wrapping paper though!

New Years Eve was spent relaxing at home with my boyfriend, which I was very happy to do!

On to my resolution for this year... I am going to work very hard to keep up with this blog!!! I want to have lots more giveaways, featured artists, featured products, tips for greener living, etc.! This is the first blog I have ever done, and I had no idea how much work it would be but I'm going to have lots of fun doing it! Stay tuned for lots of new posts! I'm going to start the year off with another giveaway from my shop (Eco Chic Hand Knits) that I'm going to post some time this week!

I'm also going to work on my facebook page that I have started recently. I need to add lots of pictures and content to that as well so between the shop, the blog and facebook I should have a pretty busy year ; )

My Organic Nesting Bowls are handmade by myself using 100% Organic Cotton Yarn. The yarn is both grown and spun without the use of any herbicides, pesticides, or other chemicals.

MY FIRST ETSY CHRISTMAS!!! (Intro)

So here's the deal...This year will be my first Christmas/holiday season having a store on Etsy, but it is also the first one in my new home! I am super excited to be celebrating for the first time here and want to go all out. I want to find all of my decorations (inside and out), entertaining supplies, gifts, etc. from Etsy. There are so many amazing shops and unique items that I can't imagine doing it any other way!

To start off my new blog I am going to have a series of posts reviewing items that I myself will be using as well as gifts that I will be giving away, showing how I use them and telling how great they are and why! I really want my new home to be a showcase of the amazing talent that Etsy offers to buyers each and every day. This post is the first of many so make sure you keep checking back!

To kick this off I am going to be hosting my first giveaway!!! I will be auctioning off a set of my organic cotton nesting bowls. The Beginning...

Welcome to my blog! This is the first of many posts I will be making. I have just recently opened up my Etsy shop, Eco Chic Hand Knits (www.ecochichandknits.etsy.com). Since starting my new business I have been introduced to many new and wonderful things, one of them being blogs. It seems like everyone's doing it, and I can see why. So I have decided to start one too and I'm going to do it BIG! Lots of giveaways, featured sellers, and at the same time a focus on living and shopping eco-friendly and green!
